Sherri Freyermuth’s great-great-grandmother was a dressmaker, and Sherri grew up sewing. She worked in a local factory for years, and wanted to get out of that setting. Sherri was providing long arm quilting services and 8 years ago took the next big step and opened Heartland Cottons in DeWitt.
Her store is filled with a variety of wonderful fabric and notions. I really loved the patterns that she features of a local designer, Remember Me Pattern Co. Heartland offers a great classroom where a local sewing club meets to sew. And of course Sherri offers classes to share her love of sewing.
Sherri is active in DeWitt’s downtown business district. She likes to visit local businesses to encourages them to offer hopper something special during the All Iowa Shop Hop. This is offers our shop hoppers great deals and savings on places to eat and other stores for our hoppers to enjoy.
Sherri also asks visitors to sign in to her Shop Hop guest book. She enjoys reviewing the signatures and seeing the all the places our shoppers come from. She encourages everyone to drive through DeWitt’s downtown district on your way in or out of town. And offers that there is not a bad place to eat in town!
